Chris (Kaluuya) and Rose (Williams) are an interracial couple whose relationship has reached the point where Rose wants him to meet her affluent white family in the suburbs. On arrival, Rose’s parents Dean and Missy (Whitford and Keener) are welcoming, but brother Jeremy (Landry Jones) is a passive-aggressive oddball. Even more peculiar are the black servants- groundskeeper Walter (Henderson) and housekeeper Georgina (Gabriel). By the time Chris realizes he should indeed get out, all hell has broken loose.

Jordan Peele, famous as half of the Key and Peele comedy duo, wrote, directed and produced this thinking person’s horror film, which starts off as a lacerating satire on white liberal racism before jumping into freaky horror territory. For this, his first feature film, Peele won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. The whole cast excels, with the charismatic Kaluuya carrying the film. Keener is also a standout as a woman with a big bad secret, and Howery provides welcome comic relief as Chris’s friend Rod. Horror fans, get ready for “Get Out”!
