Delivery men Chick and Wilbur (Abbott and Costello) get a couple of unusual shipments for the local wax museum: namely, Count Dracula (Lugosi) and Frankenstein (Strange). Worse yet, they're not as dead as they look. Then, Larry Talbot (Chaney) arrives, hot on the trail of the monsters, but exhibiting wolf-like tendencies himself. Poor Chick and Wilbur get caught in all the mayhem that results.
Why we love it
This timeless classic blends comedy and monster movie, resulting in something spooky enough to excite kids without causing sleepless nights. The best ‘A’ vehicle by far, the script is snappy, with Costello's Wilbur needing to convince doubting partner Chick that these scary figures are not make-believe, but very much alive and up to no good. Having Lugosi and Chaney on hand only adds to the creepy fun. Viewers of all ages should love this fast and funny scare-fest.
